Gaspar Sanz Collection Volume 1 - PDF Sheet Music for Classical Guitar. Comes with both a notation edition with left hand fingering and a separate tab edition. This is a PDF Download. Level: Intermediate Grades 3-7.
For the first volume I've included the original Gaspar Sanz works that inspired Rodrigo's famous concerto: Villanos, Fuga, Españoletas, La Cavalleria de Nápoles con dos Clarines, Las Hachas, and Canarios.
These popular works by Gaspar Sanz (1640-1710) originate from his Instrucción de música sobre la Guitarra Española for Baroque guitar. In 1954 Joaquín Rodrigo composed his guitar concerto Fantasía para un gentilhombre on themes from these works. A degree of arranging for modern guitar has taken place, including adding the sixth string of the modern guitar to complete logical musical lines.

I bought this Gaspar Sanz collection specifically for the 'Canarios' piece, one of the best pieces of all the classical guitar directory. The other piece are also very beautiful. The tablature is very useful. Also, I very appreciate the video available at 'thisisclassicalguitar.com'.
As an hobby guitarist I love Werner editions. It's so easy and affordable to pick up new material and explore different composers. The fact that there is a video lesson of each piece is also amazing. This Sanz editiion is no different.
Thanks so much for the feedback Richard! Happy practicing.
I love Werner Editions!!!
