This is a truly outstanding collection. I tend to play the pieces above Grade 4 at a slightly slower tempo, because otherwise they would require a great deal more practice time for me. What is remarkable about Giuliani’s music is that it still sounds beautiful even when played more slowly.
I always follow Werner’s practice suggestions: first make sure the melody really sings. I even try to whistle the melody while playing, to internalize the musical feeling. Practicing the scales and identifying the underlying chords also helps to better understand the musical structure and theory behind the compositions.
As always, the fingerings are extremely effective and well thought out.
Werner, thank you!
Great to hear this feedback. Thanks so much for sharing!
