Tarleton's Riserrectione (Poulton No. 59) by John Dowland (1563-1626) – Modern spelling sometimes Tarleton's Resurrection. Originally for lute. PDF sheet music for classical guitar. Comes with both a notation edition with left hand fingering and a separate tab edition. The level is Intermediate (Grade 6), generally straight forward but a few tricky chords shapes to jump into.

Please note: You have to tune the 3rd string down to F# (relative lute tuning) for this edition (see video below).

John Dowland was an English Renaissance composer, lutenist, and singer. He is best known today for his melancholy songs and lute compositions. He's one of my favourite composers of the Elizabethan era and all time.

Video Performance & Lesson

Below is my performance and lesson on the piece but also check Matthew McAllister's video below. YouTube Lesson Link.

Matthew McAllister playing from my edition. It's so fantastic to hear a great pro like McAllister play my score, his playing is so musical and refined!

Why do guitarists use capos and 3rd string F# tuning?
